What it’s really like

The strength of this visit is that it comes in two versions. In the short version, you are inside the Sansevero Chapel with the guide for about 35 minutes: enough time to walk through the nave and stop in front of the Veiled Christ and understand what sets that marble apart from any ordinary statue, without wandering through the historic centre. In the longer version, the same guide also accompanies you outside, extending the visit to 2.5 hours. Which one you choose depends on how much time you have in Naples, not on how interested you are in the Sansevero Chapel: those with just one morning in the city usually opt for the longer version, while those fitting the visit between other commitments take the shorter one.

The meeting point changes depending on the option chosen — sometimes in Piazza San Domenico Maggiore, sometimes directly in front of the Chapel — so it’s best to read the meeting point indicated in the confirmation carefully, rather than assuming it’s always the same. The available languages are Italian, English and French, making it a good choice for mixed groups as well. Inside, as everywhere in the Chapel, photography is not allowed: the rule applies here too and is enforced.
